Abstract
A 33 year old male who was recovering after cholecystectomy presented
a sudden onset of breathing difficulty and rashes all over the
body with inj. Andtron (Ondansetron -4mg). The condition progressed to
cardio pulmonary arrest, which was fortunately resuscitated
successfully. Ondansetron is a highly potent antiemetic drug that is
effective in preventing postoperative nausea and vomiting with very low
risk of adverse reactions. We are reporting a reaction that is probably
due to an allergy to serotonin blockers (Ondansetron, Granisetron). The
patient recovered on discontinuing the drug and with appropriate
