Abstract
#Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a common
#neurobehavioral disorder with onset in childhood, is characterized by
developmentally inappropriate levels of hyperactivity, motor
impulsivity, emotional and social responses, a general lack of
inhibition and pervasive inattention. In many studies, ADHD has been
conceptualized as resulting from dysfunction in the #frontostriatal region of the prefrontal cortex and manifesting as observable deficits
in higher-order executive function. This conceptualization of ADHD
presumes that the essential impairment in ADHD is a deficit in #behavioural response inhibition leading to secondary impairments in
Executive Functions (EF).
