Abstract

#Retreatment of previous failed implant surgeries with #zygoma implants. The zygoma implant failed due to a possible overload and lack of osseointegration of the implants. This is further complicated by the existing problem of #edentulism. Further loss of bone height associated with loss implant and the presence of scar tissue in the previous operated and implant site make reoperation difficult. This article describes a clinical procedure for the restoration of severely resorbed maxilla after a failed standard and zygomatic implants with Cortically Fixed at Once (CF@O) implant system. #Rehabilitation of difficult and failed implant case is achieved within a short period of time without the need for extensive surgical operation. Early loading ensures that #patient edentulism can be taken care of immediately.

Abstract

#Morphine is an important #wanalgesic pain control for the patients. The unwanted morphine analgesic tolerance limited its using. In this study, we attempted to improve the effectiveness of morphine and delayed morphine tolerance by intermittent administrations of morphine. Moreover, we have designed a new composite for management of pain, e.g. combination (GTPm) of green #teapolyphenols (GTP, 30 mg/kg/day) with #memantine (3mg/kg/day). The results showed that morphine (I.P. injection, 10 mg/kg/day) treated mice received morphine for consecutive five days followed by two days’ off can maintain analgesic tail flick test after long-term (54 days) administration of morphine.

Abstract

Children with DCD have difficulty in organizing and sequencing of #motor events. Instead of having higher IQ of greater than 70% these children face difficulties in reading and writing. All other activities are daily living is a biggest challenge for these children to be done without assistance from their caregivers. Without proper evaluation of these children as “DCD”, they have been diagnosed as a continuum of cerebral palsy and all the caregivers of children with DCD waste their time and money on the inappropriate #diagnosis and #treatment interventions.

Abstract

90% of acne patients never see a #Dermatologist. #Acne treatment products bought online or in local drugstores are not personalized to the skin type and acne severity of the user and are frequently irritating the skin or simply ineffective. A new mobile app uses computer vision and deep learning to assess the user’s skin and to provide personalized acne treatment medications, monitor the skin with simple selfies and to enhance commitment to the treatment. Acne affects approximately 7% of the population at any given moment. If untreated, acne frequently causes #psychosocialstress, with the risk of life-long physical and #mental scars. Ninety percent of acne patients never see a dermatologist. For those that do visit a dermatologist in-person, the experience is frequently frustrating.

A 71-year-old lady attended ENT clinic with a nine-month history of right #pulsatile tinnitus and #peri-nasal pain. There was no hearing loss, vertigo or nasal complaint. Otoscopic and flexible #nasendoscopy examination was entirely normal. On auscultation there was no neck bruit. On auscultation there was no neck bruit. An audiogram showed only a mild, high-frequency, #symmetrical sensorineural hearing loss. In view of the unilateral symptoms she had an MRI (Figure 1) which was normal, and the patient was subsequently discharged. Four months later she presented as an emergency to the #Ophthalmologists with sudden onset of a swollen and #erythematous right eye with decreased eye movements, which was preceded by intermittent blurred vision of the affected eye.

Abstract

Aim: This study aims to document the utility of #Scintimetric Characterization of the Skeletal Hot Spots seen in the Bone Scans done in this referral center during 2016-2017, in differentiating metastatic and non-metastatic lesions.
Materials and Method: The study group consists of 59 patients referred for #metastatic evaluation and non-specific bone complaints to our center. The whole body bone scan was done 3hrs after the #intravenous injection of 15 to 25mCi of Tc99m MDP using GE Millenium Gamma Camera. The 24hr whole body bone scan was repeated in all those who had focal hot spots in their scans and who accepted voluntarily with the consent of the referring physician. The counts in the focal hot spots at 3 and 24hr bone scan images were calculated using the region ratio count protocol. The Dr.V.Siva’s Retention Ratio was calculated by dividing the3hr counts by the 24hr counts in the focal hotspots. The values of metastatic and non-metastatic groups were tabulated and analyzed.

Abstract

The clinicians’ professional #communication skill through the process of #orthodontic treatment negotiation, simplicity in explaining the case and the proposed orthodontic treatment plan in the simplest direct words away from the hard-technical terms, respecting the other side point of view, as well as, their dignity forms the main corm of successful treatment. Effective communication is all about conveying your messages to other people clearly and unambiguously. It’s also about receiving information that others are sending to you, with as little distortion as possible. Doing this involves effort from both the sender of the message and the receiver. And it’s a process that can be fraught with error, with messages muddled by the sender, or misinterpreted by the recipient.

Abstract

#Periodontal disease one of the most common and #prevalent diseases of the #oral cavity has been a challenge in its etiology, diagnosis and treatment. The etiology of periodontal disease is #multifactorial, and it is considered that biofilm plays an essential role in its development and evolution [1]. Due periodontal disease development be dependent of the bacteria and various predisposing risk factors that are nonspecific for each individual and also in the same individual are unspecific since at a determined moment may trigger periodontal disease and at another moment may not have the same pathological capacity to trigger periodontal disease makes periodontal disease a difficult challenge to be solved [2].

Abstract

#Borderline ovarian tumors (BOTs) form a separate entity within the group of #epithelial ovarian tumors acknowledged by the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) in 1961 and adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1973. Tumors of low #malignant potential (LMP) account for 15-20% of all epithelial ovarian cancers, with an incidence of 1.8-4.8 per 100,000 women per year5. Nearly 75% of these tumors are stage I at the time of #diagnosis. They occur in younger women, are present at an early stage, and have a favorable prognosis.

Abstract

Working around a hospital as ac nurse makes you work with equipment and #machines always. Whatever we learnt in the nursing school was theoretically based on the understanding of what is a #disease, what are procedures and what related care should be given to the clients. But the scenario changed when we kept our feet in the clinical areas during electives, independent clinical or mainly after graduation. What I personally realized that a nurse is more a technician at the ward setting in practical aspects along with a compassionate care giver.Involving in maintenance of feeds with pumps, #handling ventilators, using equipment for cardiac monitoring, electronic screens for vital signs, technical pumps to start infusion and many more examples are all related to the daily routine work of a tertiary #care hospital nurse.

Abstract

The Internet has been spreading rapidly since the late 1990’s. It exists as an indispensable tool in contemporary society. Japan’s individual Internet users have reached 80% of the population, which is convenient, but on the other hand, it is internet addiction that is becoming a some of problem. This review addresses the problems caused by Internet addiction. The term “#Internet addiction” refers to a situation in which “control over the use of the Internet becomes difficult and, despite various problems, it is in a state where it cannot be stopped”. It proposed first by Ivan Goldberg in 1995 [1]. Although there is no definite #diagnostic criteria of Internet addiction, Internet game disorder is indicated as an item under study in the Diagnostic and #Statistical Manual of #Mental Disorders (DSM) published by American Psychiatric Association (Table 1).

Abstract

Aim: #Oral melanotic macule is a well-circumscribed pigmented lesion that commonly occurs in the oral mucosa. Histologically, it is characterized by increased production of melanin by #basalmelanocytes which present normal number and normal #morphologic features. Lesions may also exhibit melanin - laden macrophages in the adjacent lamina propria. Because of the benign #histological appearance, most authorities ignore its #pathogenesis. The purpose of the present study was to immunomorphologically characterize oral melanotic macules.
Materials and Methods: Cases of #oralmelanotic macule were included and compared with normal appearing margins of the lesion and as reactive hyperplastic lesions as controls. The morphological assessment was carried out by measurement of rete ridge lengths and by immunomorphometric analysis of the epithelial expressions of S100 and HMB45.

Abstract

#Modern society is characterized as having an ever-enlarging population of older adults. There are more elderly patients, and the average age of this group is increasing. The #anaesthetic management of #surgery for the elderly trauma victim is more complicated than in younger adults. Evaluation of the #physiologic status of the #geriatric patient should take into account the variability of the changes associated with advancing age. Care of the injured elderly patient requires thorough preoperative assessment and planning and the involvement of a multidisciplinary clinical team knowledgeable about and interested in the management of the elderly surgical patient.

Abstract

#Orthodontic practice as any other dental-and medical specialty is covered by certain #fundamental ethics which will be taken strictly in consideration and strictly respected. The following are some points of special consideration in this very critical issue. Making orthodontic decision is not our sole responsibility, but we have to respect the moral and legal authority of the parents. We are the guide leader for taking the decision on very sound bases putting in consideration the patient’s benefit as the first priority to conduct #orthodontic treatment. Use the best available evidence to explain your point of view to the patients’ side, take the appropriate time, whatever it is, before starting treatment. During treatment, we must have enough time at each recall visit to explain to the patient’s side the progress of treatment and any remarks on the #patient performance.
